Spread out over 6 beachfront acres and consisting of lush tropical landscape and unique plantings, we are on the quiet, east end of the island, near the historic and still functioning Sanibel Lighthouse. Tour the stunning botanical gardens, including the hibiscus collection and butterfly garden or enjoy relaxing with a book from our library next to the gurgling fountain while taking in the fragrant flowers. You may also choose to join the weekly shelling lecture before hitting the beach to collect your own treasures.

If you have a Gulf view suite, an amazing Sanibel sunrise is the perfect way to start your day. Not an early riser? Start your evening by watching that same sun sink into the Gulf of Mexico while the pelicans dive just feet away.

Bring your boat! The newly refurbished docks on the canal side of Sanibel Moorings can accommodate boats up to 25 feet, giving easy access to the Back Bay and Gulf of Mexico. Visit our boat docks page for more information. You're welcome to fish on the beach or off the Sanibel Moorings docks. Tarpon, snook and sea trout are just some of the popular catches during season. In fact, the Sanibel - Captiva area is known as one of the top tarpon fishing locations in the world. Fire up one of our BBQ grills and cook your fresh catch for an outdoor picnic before retiring to your condo to watch a current release movie. Sanibel Moorings offers a movie library with titles for all ages.

Once you've settled in, the Gulf of Mexico will pull you in like a magnetic force. As you cross the boardwalk to the beach you'll enter into another world.
